Jeremy Podeswa (once cited by Variety Magazine as one of "Tomorrow's Hot Exports" in its survey of new directors) has written and directed three critically lauded feature films, including FUGITIVE PIECES (Opening Gala of the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival); THE FIVE SENSES (Cannes Directors Fortnight, Best Canadian Film TIFF, Genie Winner Best Director) and ECLIPSE (Sundance, Berlin, New Directors/New Films MOMA) Podeswa has also recently directed three episodes of the epic HBO mini-series THE PACIFIC, Executive Produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. Other directing credits include the
mini-series INTO THE WEST, Executive Produced by Steven Spielberg (nominated for 16 Emmy Awards); the television movie AFTER THE HARVEST, winner of the Directors Guild of Canada Award for Best Direction and nominated for nine Gemini Awards; and numerous episodes of groundbreaking television series, including SIX FEET UNDER, DEXTER, THE TUDORS, WEEDS, THE L WORD, QUEER AS FOLK, and NIP/ TUCK.

Alva, a witty ten-year-old Parkdale kid gets a job as an ice-cream vendor to help support his struggling mother, but once on the street he discovers that life is littered with choices when tempted by the easy money of street crime.
Writer Richard B. Pierre's first feature length screenplay, CROOKED was selected as a quarter-finalist for the 2009 Nicholl Fellowship, sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

LIFT OUT LOUD is our bi-monthly script reading series where members workshop their scripts to by professional actors and then get feedback from the acclaimed guest moderator and an audience of their peers. LIFT OUT LOUD meets bi-monthly on the first Wednesday of every other month.
