FILM IS DEAD! LONG LIVE FILM! is defiantly presented by LIFT and its members to prove that not only is film still a viable medium of production and art creation but also to disprove the notion by commercial production that has dismissed film as "old hat" as we move further into the digital realm. LONG LIVE FILM! 2006 marks the 25th Anniversary of the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto an indispensable artist-run centre in Toronto. FILM IS DEAD! LONG LIVE FILM! is an inspiring and awesome revolution and celebration of filmmaking and filmmakers. The event has more than 20 world premiere screenings, after parties, installations, film-based performances and so much more!

FILM IS DEAD! LONG LIVE FILM! is presented in memory of our dear friend, colleague, artist and filmmaker Roberto Ariganello (1961 - 2006) who was LIFT's executive director from 2003 until his untimely death this summer.
